My Etsy store is now open! I have refreshed some of my favourite prints and made them available for instant digital download. Included is the popular Sink or Swim mermaid tattoo, as well as my Kura and Bambirella tattoos. Other featured prints include the David Downton inspired Ace, and my favourite tomboy, Van.
It's a Saturday night and what am I doing? Geeking out on the computer and putting the finishing touches on a little design project I'd set myself! I wanted to create a few different designs and illustrations, then mock them up to see how they'd look as prospective stationery pieces. It's not a "set", so much as a range of different experiments.
I was heavily influenced by the art of kikki.K, which incorporates a Scandinavian approach to their stationary and homeware. I love the elements of Scandinavian design; from the clean, simple "function over form" of its design aesthetic, to whimsical folk art and illustrations.
I am actually of Danish descent and really enjoyed the chance to further explore my own artistic heritage. I found the intricate pattern designs almost therapeutic to draw, and this folk art style is one I'm excited to experiment with further.
In the mean time, please feel free to check out the work to date on Lune (Danish for 'whimsy').
